Understanding Flavors

Every berry adds points to one or more of these five flavors:

  • Sweet - Egg hatching bonuses
  • Spicy - Experience point bonuses
  • Sour - Encounter rate bonuses
  • Bitter - Item drop bonuses
  • Fresh - Catch rate bonuses

Berries also add Level Boost (temporary level increase) and Energy (duration in Hyperspace).

Star Rating System

Your total flavor points determine the star rating, which multiplies your bonuses:

240+2 ★x1.2

960+5 ★x1.5

This multiplier boosts both Level Boost and Energy duration.

Powers

Each flavor type unlocks different powers at various star levels. Higher stars unlock stronger versions of each power.
